The Whit weekend is already history but unfortunately our little trip over the holidays we will be remembered forever. One of the sunniest regions of Europe was on our itinerary. The goal was Valais, where we wanted to visit a former fellow student of Andrea.
After 9 hours of driving, in which one could be loose with the plane in New York, we reached our goal. But ok, who on Friday afternoon and still goes on holidays to the south, it also has otherwise earned as with many other cars in a queue to be on the car. That could not dampen our joy, however. We had a nice bed and breakfast in our lovely hosts and really felt like at home. Especially for us is now also still the most beautiful weather that you can do this season. Two full days we had now time to explore the area. Apart from a small walk we had of course the symbol of the Toblerone on the plan. The Matterhorn, one of the most photographed peaks in the Alps, drew us into its spell. From Zermatt, we took the Gornergrat at 3100 meters and this was really impressive and distinctive mountain on the doorstep. Just a little further wait for the winter sports paradise Saas Fee to us, which is surrounded by five or six thousand four, is well worth seeing.
Wallis is really a very nice area and we can each one recommend visiting in the region. I do not believe our last visit to this beautiful area must have been!
